Before using the coffee machine for the first time, clean it carefully with water and make coffee a few times and then throw it away. Check whether the coffee machine has a valve, funnel, seal and filter plate and whether they are in the correct position. Never use the coffee machine without water. Do not add extracts, cocoa or other additives to the coffee: they could clog the holes in the filter plate. Do not open the coffee machine until it has cooled down. Regularly check the funnel-shaped filter, the filter plate and the seal. If you notice that they are worn or damaged, replace them. The small kettle is designed to be used with water only. Clean the inside of the small column regularly and carefully. Only buy replacement parts that exactly fit the model you are using. Only use original spare parts. Under no circumstances should you touch the warm surface of the coffee pot; instead, hold it by the handle and knob. Keep out of the reach of children.
