THE CREATION
In 2006, Jean-Claude Ellena created Terre d’Hermès, a fragrance that connects men with their origins and the source of their creative power. Terre d’Hermès describes the relationship between man and earth. His dialogue with nature and the elements is characterized by modesty and harmony.
Since 2016, Christine Nagel, perfumer at Hermès, has been exploring the Terre fragrance line to discover new possibilities for interpretation.
THE FRAGRANCE NOTES
With mineral and woody accents, the Terre d’Hermès fragrance combines the power of cedar and the tanginess of grapefruit with the vibrant aroma of flint.
THE OBJECT
An orange H adorns the base, symbolizing its roots in the earth. At the top, light is reflected off the metal on the shoulders of the bottle. And in between, between heaven and earth, is perfectly clear water.
THE HERMÈS DETAIL
On closer inspection, the Terre d'Hermès bottle reveals numerous details, such as the iconic "Clou de Selle" saddle nail and the sliding cap that releases the spray button, etc.
It was created by designer Philippe Mouquet and is modeled on a travel toiletries bottle kept in the Émile Hermès Museum.
