Borosilicate glass, silicone

All BODUM products are made to the highest standard. The glass we use is Borosilicate glass which withstands extremes of temperature, from -30 degrees centigrade to +530 degrees, and can be washed innumerable times. As with all glass, care should be taken when using and whether washed by hand or in a dishwasher should never be stacked on top of other products or placed too close so that it can be knocked or damaged. When storing glass products, again, space should be chosen with care. Metal cutlery should never be used with glass. Ice cubes should be added after the drink not into the empty glass. Unfortunately, if the glass has been knocked or damaged in some way and has a hairline fracture that is un-detectable to the human eye, the next time hot water is poured into the glass it can break or crack. This however is not a common occurrence. In most cases the glass lasts for many years without incurring any problems. Unfortunately there is no warranty on the breakage to any glass items
