The composition of La Tulipe unfolds around a heart of tulips. This flower evokes associations with the dew of morning gardens. As one of the first of the season to open its blossoms, it is therefore considered the quintessential symbol of spring’s return. Ben Gorham, Creative Director of BYREDO: "I have always loved tulips, so I decided to create a fragrance that tells the story of this flower’s complexity. I wanted to capture its shy character and combine it with the strong expression of its appearance. I find the tulip very fascinating because its scent cannot be extracted through distillation. So we combined natural ingredients from different parts of the tulip with other flowers to express and realize our vision with this fragrance."

• Middle notes: tulip
• Base notes: Light woods, vetiver
