Maurice Roucel began his career in 1973 as a chemist in Chanel's Fragrance Laboratory. The self-taught perfumer, who describes himself as an "explorer who wanders among formulas," is a sensual aesthete and is known for his generous compositions, in which he limits himself to the essentials.
