Use every hook/loop on the boot to tie them and make a tight knot. Tuck the bow and the ends of the laces into the upper if they are too long, stick out or are not covered by your trousers. Speed-lace systems have a pocket where you can stow the ends. Please mind that the grip of your boots’ soles will lessen in wet and cold weather. The risk of slipping increases particularly on smooth surfaces such as polished rocks, roots, boughs, tile, on asphalt or metal grating. Snow, ice and wintery conditions will too alter and reduce the grip of soles, just as well as worn-out profiles. Every material is subject to typical ageing. For this reason, you should get your shoes checked by your dealer or LOWA itself after five years at latest, even if you never or only infrequently wore them. Some models can even be completely resoled.
