As a playful nod to Dorothée Meilichzon’s two-in-one Chapeau! candle, the new Zafferano Edition features a burgundy cap made of glazed stoneware that also serves as a 330-gram candle with a wick. The handcrafted porcelain base forms a second candle with five wicks and a weight of 1,600 grams. It retains the clean, minimalist design of its characteristic shape and provides even, generous illumination.

Crafted with the utmost care, the base begins as a so-called “biscuit”—a term for the original, unglazed porcelain that, after shaping and firing, is sanded in a process lasting up to 30 minutes to achieve a smooth surface while still retaining its raw, tactile quality. This creates an elegant contrast to the lid, which is first glazed and then fired. To ensure the luminosity of the deep Bordeaux hue, an additional layer of glaze is applied before the second firing, resulting in a glossy, refined finish.

The hand-embossed plaque on each candle is a modern reinterpretation of the iconic Acqua di Parma label, while the hand-finished cap and hand-poured wax underscore the subtle nuance of masterful craftsmanship.

Zafferano combines the warm, dry notes of saffron with radiant accords of Italian golden fruits—like gilded sparks dancing with intense spicy notes to create an unexpected, vibrant fragrance experience.

Do not let any candle burn for more than 1.5 hours at a time. This prevents the flame from getting too high, reduces smoke, and helps avoid discoloration around the edges of the container.

Use an Acqua di Parma candle snuffer to extinguish the flame.

Allow the candle to cool completely before relighting it.

After each use, reposition the wick in the wax to ensure even burning.

Trim the wick regularly with an Acqua di Parma wick trimmer to prevent it from sticking to the wax and causing smoke.

Keep the melted wax free of matches and debris.

Do not use the candle if the remaining wax level in the container is less than 5 mm.

Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep away from children, curtains, and pets.

Do not move a burning candle or a candle with wax that is still hot. Wait until the wax has completely hardened.

Ensure that the wax of both candles has completely hardened before replacing the candle cap on the candle base.

Do not place the candle on heat-sensitive surfaces, near flammable materials, open windows, or other candles.
