An incense fougère.
The top notes unfold with incense, elemi, lemon, and pink pepper, forming a half-spicy, half-green blend with floral hints and a touch of French lavender. The olfactory journey ends with cashmere wood, vanilla, Peru balsam, and white musk. Fresh yet warm, traditional yet rock 'n' roll, subtle yet full of personality, 702 is a fragrance of contradictions that appeals to the curious.
PS: Bon Parfumeur selected an exceptional quality lavender from the south of France, produced by IFF-LMR. This outstanding olfactory quality makes all the difference.
What is a fougère?
The fougère accord made its debut in perfumery in 1882. With his fragrance Fougère Royale for the House of Houbigant, Paul Parquet revolutionized perfumery at the time and laid the foundation for today's perfumery. Fougère Royale was more than just a perfume; it was a fragrance accord that has since become one of the most popular men's fragrances. It consists of aromatic lavender, geranium, and coumarin, as well as woody notes such as oakmoss and vetiver, and established a completely new fragrance family. The typical fougère accord smells fresh, deep, and slightly retro, like a traditional barber shop or herbal boutique. It exudes strong, almost masculine notes and conveys an impression of cleanliness reminiscent of the aroma of aftershave.
What is frankincense?
Frankincense is actually a resin obtained by cutting the trunk of Boswellia sacra (a tree that grows in the hot soils of Africa and the Arabian Peninsula). It is also known as "olibanum." Frankincense has a strong and unique scent reminiscent of camphor-like, waxy, mineral, spicy, and even peppery aromas. Profound and spiritual, we love the mystical and enigmatic facet it brings to fragrances.
What about lavender?
Lavender has been used since ancient times, when the Romans perfumed their baths and household laundry with it. During the Renaissance, it was used in the tanneries of Grasse to scent leather. It has been cultivated in the Mediterranean region since the 19th century and is now a symbol of southern France, where it is always grown at altitudes above 1000 m! It exudes floral, herbaceous, camphoraceous, and medicinal notes. Its ultra-fresh scent is sometimes compared to that of bergamot because it is almost floral and tangy in the top note.
