Your Diptyque candle is an exceptional handcrafted creation and deserves the utmost care. Here are some tips to maximize its lifespan and ensure safe use.

Preparing the room

• Place your candle on a flat, heat-resistant surface.
• Protect delicate materials such as wood or marble with a candle holder or tray.
• Keep candles away from flammable materials.
• Keep candles out of reach of children and pets.

Lighting the candle

• We recommend lighting your candle with a match to avoid burns.
• When lighting the candle for the first time, make sure to let it burn until an even layer of liquid wax has formed (approx. 4 hours, depending on the scent). This prevents the wax from tunneling and allows the wick to properly absorb the wax, ensuring even burning. Wicks may produce a small amount of smoke when first lit.

While burning

• After the first lighting, do not let the candle burn for more than 4 hours at a time.
• Never leave a burning candle unattended.
• Do not move a burning candle or a candle that is still hot but not burning.
• Keep it away from drafts.
• Leave at least 10 cm of space between two candles.

After each use

• Extinguish the flame: Use a candle snuffer to avoid hot wax splatters.
• Recenter the wick as soon as the candle has gone out.
• Before relighting your candle, trim the wick with a wick trimmer (ideal length: 3 to 5 mm) to prevent fire hazards.

Final Note

• Do not use your candle once only 5 mm of wax remains or the metal wick holder becomes visible.

Care & Storage

• We recommend ventilating the room after burning a candle.
• Allow the wax to cool completely before moving your candle.
• Store it in a dry, temperate place (15 °C–25 °C / 59 °F–77 °F), protected from direct sunlight, to prevent discoloration, changes in pigment, or the wax from peeling off.

Avoid release to the environment. IF ON SKIN: Wash with plenty of water. If skin irritation or rash occurs: Get medical advice/attention.
