In 2013, perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena reinterpreted the Bel Ami fragrance in his own composition with a new ingredient: vetiver.

The leathery and woody composition of Bel Ami Eau de Toilette strikes new notes with the combination of intense vetiver, expressive leather, and sensual rockrose.

THE OBJECT
The bottle is inspired by the lanterns of horse-drawn carriages of yesteryear, and the black cap is reminiscent of the shape of a riding helmet. The fragrance's affiliation with the Parfums-Fondateurs collection is indicated by the label on the back, which features a motif by Philippe Dumas.

Jean-Claude Ellena adheres to the tried-and-tested codes – the balanced character, distinctive elegance, and classic structure remain unchanged – but still writes his own score for Bel Ami, in which a new base note sets the tone: vetiver. From leather with chypre notes to leather with wood notes—where patchouli once dominated, warm vetiver now shines with wood notes, green nuances, and barely perceptible smoky hints.
