The success story began in Malden, Massachusetts when Marquis M. Converse founded the “Converse Rubber Shoe Company” in 1908. Initially, shoes were produced for the winter. Later, sports shoes followed, including the first All Star sneaker. In collaboration with the Converse employee and basketball player Chuck Taylor, the legendary Chuck Taylor All Star sneakers were finally launched in 1923, featuring a circular patch with Taylor's signature.
