A success story that began in 1920 with baby rompers and knitted booties: the German knitwear specialist MAERZ has been producing the finest knitwear collections for women and men at the highest level for more than 90 years. MAERZ - premium knitwear and knitted fabrics

In 1920, the couple Thea and Wolfgang März laid the foundation for the establishment of a German luxury knitwear brand in the back room of their home. Starting with cuddly soft children's knitwear and knitted swimwear, they soon turned to producing sweaters and larger collection pieces. In 1947, März Strickwaren GmbH was founded again in Munich. At the end of the 70s, knitwear was already produced to the highest quality standards. Particular focus was placed on refining yarns and surface textures - Merino Superwash quality became a recognized name. In 2010, the family shares were transferred to the Olymp Group; however, the company headquarters remained in the Bavarian state capital.

Whether extra-fine merino, pure new wool, exquisite cashmere or specially patented, natural cotton - the knitwear collections feature urban, high-quality casual wear. With the successful implementation of a long-standing knitting tradition, the new, casual style features a super-light merino yarn.

Recently, the traditional MAERZ label achieved a successful brand realignment with fresh ideas and great motivation. German top models and the cute house mascot called "Finchen", a small merino lamb, are the stars of the current advertising campaigns. The luxurious knits are now available in six European countries - and further expansion may be on the cards.
