AUTRY

Autry is an American footwear company founded in 1985 by Mike and Tom Autry. It is based in Dallas, Texas. Autry shoes were already very popular in the late 80s. The label made a comeback to the fashion world in the last decade. Rightly so, because the Autry sneakers meet the pulse of the time with the retro look. Sneakerheads combine this basic both with a suit in the office or at festive occasions, or casually with athleisure looks in their free time.

The history of the Autry brand

The success of the American shoe brand began back in the mid-1980s, when brothers Mike and Tom Autry opened their first shoe store on St. Mark's Place in New York City. Autry first began as a manufacturer of tennis shoes. The designs were so well received that they expanded to new locations in a very short time.

In 1989, the brand launched its first basketball shoes under the name “Medalist”. High school athletes and trendsetters of their time wore Autry Action shoes for both sports and leisure. After this success Autry decided to expand its range of footwear to other sports such as soccer, baseball, and football.

Today, the company is owned by Adidas. The Autry brand mainly manufactures sneakers in the style of the 60s. These sneakers have a classic retro look with a vintage feel. This makes them the perfect styling partner for occasions with a casual dress code.

Autry is back: from sports shoe to lifestyle sneaker

Autry sneakers are especially popular in the street fashion scene today. Retro shoes are a must-have for a successful outfit. The popular Medalist effortlessly blends into any clothing style with its sporty, minimalist look. Sneakers can be mixed and matched for any style from preppy to edgy. Casual with jeans and shirt, smart with a suit or as a style break with a dress or skirt. Shoes from Autry are versatile fashion statements. Based on sports shoes, they not only look good, but are also very comfortable.
