Husband-and-wife team Hedwig and Fritz Hiltl founded their eponymous trouser factory in the Upper Palatinate in 1955. These men's trousers are characterized by the finest materials from top weavers, especially from Germany and Italy, and elaborate construction. Some of the models are still cut and sewn by hand. Contrary to the trend toward economization across the industry, this company consistently focuses on production in Europe. This is a particularly high, firm stem button in a matching yarn color that prevents unsightly fabric wear. There is also a special buttonhole with a crossbar, which ensures a firm, immovable fit. Only extra fine-toothed metal zips are used, to ensure long life and perfect function. Supima cotton from Arizona, Smartcel Clima – a mix of cotton and microfiber for effective heat exchange – and Super Stretch are the superior quality fabrics for the trend collections. Fabrics come in delicate striped designs, in pastel mélange yarns and unicolors in muted business shades. High Performance is a trend-setting fabric with cooling effect and built-in UV protection, developed in cooperation with the Italian men's luxury tailor Zegna.
