Do not touch the barrel plate or allow children or those with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge to touch the styler whilst it is cooling. operation Ensure that hair is towel dried (not dripping wet) before using the ghd appliance a. Plug the ghd 2-in-1 hair dryer brush into the power supply. The ghd 2-in-1 hair dryer brush will momentarily flash around the ON/OFF switch and beep to indicate that it is connected and is in standby mode. After washing your hair, towel-dry it thoroughly. Do not allow excess water from your hair or any other source to come into contact with the ghd 2-in-1 hair dryer brush. Whilst using the brush, be careful not to block the air inlet at the back of the device or the air outlet around the barrel plate. This could cause the device to go into fail safe mode. b. To turn on the ghd 2-in-1 hair dryer brush, slide the ON/OFF switch into the ON position. c. The ghd 2-in-1 hair dryer brush will play a short start-up tune and a light will pulse to indicate that the ghd hair dryer brush is heating up and the fan will gradually ramp up in speed. d. Once ready the ghd 2-in-1 hair dryer brush will play a short 'ready to use' tone. e. Once ready the ghd 2-in-1 hair dryer brush will play a short 'ready to use' tone and the light around the on/off switch will stop pulsing and be continuous. f. When you have finished your styling session, slide the ON/OFF switch into the OFF position. When the product is switched off the fan will gently ramp down. This helps to blow residual heat out from the air heater. Once turned OFF, unplug the ghd hair dryer brush from the power supply and allow it to cool in a safe place or store in the supplied heat resistant bag/mat. The ghd 2-in-1 hair dryer brush has the following safety features: 1. Sleep mode: The ghd 2-in-1 hair dryer brush has two sleep mode settings: a. If the ghd 2-in-1 hair dryer brush has been left on and has not been used for more than 30 minutes, a safety feature will automatically turn the ghd 2-in-1 hair dryer brush off. b. After 60 minutes, a safety feature will automatically turn the ghd 2-in-1 hair dryer brush off, even if it is still in use. c. The ghd 2-in-1 hair dryer brush will play the shut-down tune, the heated barrel plate will start to cool and the fan will switch off d. To re-start the ghd 2-in-1 hair dryer brush while it is in sleep mode, simply slide the power button off and on again until the start-up tune sounds. Note that although the ghd 2-in-1 hair dryer brush is turned off, it is still connected to the mains and should be unplugged from the mains electricity at the earliest opportunity. 2. Protect mode: The ghd 2-in-1 hair dryer brush can protect itself against adverse events or power fluctuations, for safety the heated barrel plate will turn off, hair dryer brush will emit a bleep and the light will flash white every five seconds. If this occurs un-plug and re-plug at the power supply and then re-start. 3. Fail safe: in the unlikely event of a control system error, for safety the heaters will turn off, the ghd 2-in-1 hair dryer brush will emit rapid beeps and the light will flash red every 5 seconds. If this occurs switch off the ghd 2-in-1 hair dryer brush at the power supply and re-start. If the unit does not re-start or the problem persists, contact ghd Customer Service for advice.
