Shalimar, the first amber fragrance in perfume history created by Jacques Guerlain, is celebrating its centenary. To mark this significant anniversary, GUERLAIN is launching Shalimar L'Essence, an intense variation in which the typical codes of Shalimar are concentrated into a true essence. GUERLAIN's most famous tribute to modernity, audacity, and eternal feminine seduction.

More than just a perfume, Shalimar L'Essence is a declaration of love. A declaration of love from Delphine Jelk, Creative Director of GUERLAIN Parfums, to this icon of the Maison's heritage and, in particular, to its most characteristic note: vanilla. Delphine Jelk adds the precious Madagascar vanilla tincture, produced according to GUERLAIN's traditional savoir-faire, to the ethyl vanillin of Jacques Gerlain's original formula to give Shalimar a new intensity without distorting its signature scent.

Bergamot discreetly and subtly illuminates the floral heart notes, which combine rose absolute and powdery elegance. Gradually, the amber scent of Shalimar unfolds more intensely than ever. An overdose of vanilla breathes new facets into it, which are sweet, woody, and slightly leathery at the same time.

For Shalimar L'Essence, GUERLAIN has reinterpreted the iconic bottle logo. An allusion to the Art Deco style that was modern at the time of Shalimar. The letters are assembled into a bold, graphic logo, their golden hue matching that of the liquid. The iconic bottle is both rooted in history and decidedly modern, bridging the gap between the eternal Shalimar and the Shalimar of tomorrow.
