The rock 'n' roll song of the same name by Carl Perkins was released in 1956 and is one of the most successful singles ever. In the same year, the King of Rock 'n' Roll, Elvis Presley, recorded a slightly faster cover version. Although not planned as a single, it ended up in the singles charts and made the song world famous.
With a great deal of humor, the lyrics are about someone who adores his blue suede shoes, because in the lyrics he urges, among other things: "Do whatever you want, knock me down , set my house on fire, steal my car ... but just don't step on my blue suede shoes ."
