Take care when handling these knives: the cutting edge is very sharp! • MIYABI knives are not dishwasher-safe. Only clean your knives under running water with a little detergent and dry them carefully. • To avoid rust or discolouration, “immediately” clean the blades after contact with food Do not leave your knives wet or dirty for any length of time. • Keep your knives in a knife block, on a magnetic strip or in a knife sheath to protect the blades and prevent damage to the cutting edge by other utensils. • If the knives are not used for a while, wrap them in a cloth or newspaper and store them in a dry place. • Do not use the knives to cut hard foods, like shellfish or frozen food, and avoid tilting the blade when cutting, as this could damage the delicate cutting edge. • Do not use knives made of multi-layer blade steel in combination with hot and acidic or salty food. • Cutting on a hard surface (e.g. glass) damages the cutting edge. We recommend using MIYABI cutting boards made of hinoki wood to ensure your blades stay sharp for longer.
