Born in 1942, Weitzman has been rooted in the shoe business since his childhood: his father, Seymour Weitzman, owned a small shoe factory in Massachusetts, and Stuart began designing new models in his youth. After his father's death in the mid-1960s, Stuart and his brother took over production, but sold it after a few years. It was not until 1994 that the American designer bought back the shoe factory and started designing his STUART WEITZMAN collections.
