When using your appliance, basic precautions should always be followed, including the following: read the full manual before using your steamer. Warning! Your steamer is always electrically live when it is plugged in. When operating the steamer, and especially if children are present, safety precautions should be taken. To reduce the risk of getting burned, fire, electrocution, or other injuries, always observe the following instructions: unplug the appliance during filling and cleaning. The fabric steamer must not be left unattended while it is connected to the supply mains. Do not keep the steamer where there is any risk of it falling into water. Do not reach for an appliance that has fallen into water. Unplug immediately. Do not pull the power cord to remove the plug from the power outlet. Always pull from the plug. Use in a dry area only. The steam is approximately 100°C (212°F) and may cause injury. Allow the steamer to cool off before storing it after steaming. The steamer should not be used as a toy. Children shall not play with the appliance. Care should be taken when using the appliance due to the emission of steam. People younger than 18 years old should not operate or clean the steamer. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Keep the fabric steamer and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years of age when it is energized or cooling down. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision. Do not descale the steamer with corrosive acid. The steamer may turn the acid into gases that are lethal to inhale. The fabric steamer is not to be used if it has been dropped, if there are visible signs of damage, if it is leaking, if the power cord is damaged, if it is not working properly, if it has been damaged in another way or dropped into water. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard. Do not attempt to repair the appliance. Incorrect reassembly or repair could cause a risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons when the appliance is used. Return the appliance to an authorized service center for examination and repair. This appliance has a polarized plug. Use in a socket with earthing. (The U.S. and JP version is equipped with a non-polarized plug). If you want to use an extension cord, it must be an earthed cable. Do not operate the steamer without properly filling the water container with water. Burns could occur from touching hot parts, hot water, or steam. Make sure to always wear the included heat protection tool on your free hand while steaming to prevent burns. To reduce the risk of circuit overload, do not operate anything other than your steamer (a high-wattage appliance) on the same circuit. Do not steam towards yourself or anyone else, for example steaming clothes that you or someone else is wearing. The steamer should be placed upright on a table when resting it during the steaming process. Do not use this steamer in any other way than that described in this manual. Do not throw this manual away. Save it and keep it together with the steamer. Use appliance only for its intended use. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not immerse the appliance in water or other liquids. Never yank cord to disconnect from outlet; instead, grasp plug and pull to disconnect. Do not allow cord to touch hot surfaces. Let appliance cool completely before putting away. Loop cord loosely around appliance when storing. Always disconnect appliance from electrical outlet when filling with water or emptying, and when not in use.
